This winter and holiday season, I’m stepping up my game with all these new lip colors! Experimenting with new lip colors is one of my favorite ways to jumpstart my holiday looks. I love that lipstick can pull together any makeup look or be a complete look on it’s own. This season, I’m loving dark, rich hues like browns, deep reds, and plum tones. I’ve also been into cool-toned rosy nudes that are a bit unexpected for this time of year, but look great with any makeup look.
So from perfect rosy nudes to festive red and hazelnut brown, keep scrolling to see my top 5 lip picks for this winter/holiday season!
You can never go wrong with a bold red lip for winter. L’Oreal recently released a limited edition lipstick collection in collaboration with Balmain and they are all the bombdot.com!! My favorite shade is Domination, a rich matte red which feels festive and everything winter. I love these lipsticks because they are super rich and creamy, yet hydrating and smooth- an ideal combination when it comes to any lipstick. My lips tend to get really dry in the winter, so an intensely hydrating lipstick is key!
No matter what season it is, nothing strikes me like a gorgeous rosy nude lip! This is my absolute favorite shade from the “Always On Matte” Liquid Lipstick collection by Smashbox. I’ve been wearing these for a while, I love how pigmented and long-lasting they are! They make the perfect fail-proof lip for those holiday parties you have coming up… no budge ;) Another one of my favorite shades for this season is Miss Conduct, a rich warm plum shade that makes me feel really festive when wearing it! I used this sultry shade for my Valentine’s Day makeup tutorial, so you can see how it looks on my lips here!
If you’re a lip balm kind of girl that is always on the hunt for extra hydration then you will fall in love these Lush Lip Colour Balms by Becca! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been applying a lip balm before doing a lipstick or matte lip creme, otherwise my lips would dry out quickly. So you guys can only imagine my excitement when these babies came out!! These lip colors make my lips feel-defined, yet natural and not overdone. They glide onto your lips with a soft satin finish, but are really buildable and pigmented. To get more coverage, I usually do 3 swipes and still don’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my lips! My favorite shades for this season are Toasted Hazelnut which is a deep brown and Black Violet, a lighter plum shade. These lipsticks are great for the winter time because they are infused with jojoba oil to leave your lips feeling hydrated all day long.
