This pier in Carbon Beach, Malibu was one of my absolute favorite places growing up. My parents would bring me here, we'd walk down the street and get tacos, then eat them with our feet in the sand. This pier always looked so serene, a little lonely, but beautiful. Unlike the Santa Monica Pier that is constantly swarming with people, this pier was quiet and kept to itself. Long days in the sun, then tucked under a blanket in the afternoon, I'd gaze out at this pier, watch the ships and sail boats go by, and listen to the waves roll in and out.
