1 | Milly
Milly’s F/W 2018 show was one for the books, as always. The entire collection was beyond gorgeous with bright colors, vibrant prints, silky two-pieces, and lots of glittery things. Behind the collection was a strong message expressing some of today’s difficult political issues that we’re all faced with. Smith brought these issues to the forefront of her show including the desire for equality, inclusiveness, and the expression of love. Once the last few models walked down the runway, you could see these themes through the color palette which ultimately formed a rainbow that signified the right to love and equality. The sleek hair and glittery eye makeup on the models also perfectly tied in with the underlying message of the collection, showing both the strength and femininity of women.
2 | Self Portrait
It was all in the details at Self-Portrait this season. Inspired by the “modern girl,” the looks were all about femininity, versatility and layering. While Chong broadened his range this season from his signature dresses to tailored overcoats, trousers, and leather skirts, all the details were still there. Tailored overcoats featured leather wrap belts and lattice-embroidery detailing, while silk blouses featured exaggerated necklines and silk neckties.
3 | Tibi
For Tibi, this season was all about finding a new aesthetic between her signature classics, with cool-girl twists and modern elements. On the runway, pieces were vibrant and bold – think bright colored sweaters styled with straight skirts, jersey dresses, and white knee-high boots. She also explored the idea of preppy-meets-street-style, featuring pullover sweaters that were tied around the shoulders over dresses, coats, and blouses.
4 | Cushnie et Ochs
This year was Cushnie et Ochs 10th anniversary show, and they definitely made it one for the books! This is one of my favorite brands that have always stayed true to making pieces that are clean, sleek, and feminine with just the right amount of sexiness that is never overdone. I love everything from their body-hugging slip dresses, to their monochromatic looks, and sheer dresses. This year’s lineup was designed in honor of their muse, architect Zaha Hadid. They revitalized some of the signature pieces that they do best such as body-hugging slip dresses, pencil skirts and trousers in a pretty neutral color palette featuring the occasional pop of color.
5 | Tom Ford
Tom Ford debuted his F/W 2018 collection with bright neon animal prints, dramatic coats, glitter, velvet, and lots of fur. And of course, we’ll leave it to Tom Ford to bring back the 80s to the runways, but make it look more sexy, fun and playful than ever! Some of my favorite pieces were the oversized jackets which featured a unique combination of snake-skin print, puffer fabric and fur!
