dpHUE, a color bar, Studio City | Hair color has always been a sensitive issue for me… I naturally have very dark brown, wavy hair, but I love brightening it up with highlights and ombre! To get my hair this light, it’s a process, and if not in very careful hands, it can be extremely damaging. I was lucky enough be invited to try out the new dpHUE color bar, a concept salon by creative director Justin Anderson (responsible for all the locks we love to hate on girls like Jennifer Aniston and Kristin Cavallari). This salon is like the DryBar for color, so you don’t need an appointment, can walk right in, and don’t even have to worry about tipping because it’s all included in the process! They also have an amazing product line that includes a take home, root touch up kit with easy DIY instructions by one of their professionals!
I have to say, my experience at the salon was like no other. Justin and his team thoroughly evaluated my hair, went over the reference pictures I brought in, then included me in the decision making process of exactly how they would color my hair. We decided to pump up my ombre and really bring out my highlights all over my head which would really help brighten my eyes and face. I also told them that I didn’t want to have to worry about having to touch up every few weeks, so we decided to not do any base color, and instead just blend in sporadic highlights, that are not streaky, and don’t start right at the root.
The prices are also really reasonable:
Gorgeous TO GO: Includes Custom Color Kit, personal consultation and instructions for your DIY hair color packaged to go: $38-$43
All Over & Out: Enjoy full service hair color at the dpHUE colorBAR. If you need a retouch, a shine gloss treatment, or a whole new hue from roots to tips, the dpHUE team has got your back and will do the whole thing for you for just the price of the Custom Color Kit ($38-$43) + $25!
