Happy Friday my lovelies! Today I’m talking all about sheet masks, one of my favorite Korean beauty trends that has changed my skincare game! I remember when sheet masks first came on the market..everyone was a bit hesitant to use them, but now they’ve become a cult beauty product! I mean..what’s not to love right? They’re quick, on-the-go friendly, and customized to your skin needs. There are so many benefits to using sheet masks in your skincare routine and the options are endless! You can address multiple skin concerns whether it’s anti-aging, hydration, fine lines or pigmentation etc. And best of all, the individual packaging makes them super easy to use and perfect for travelling. These days, I use sheet masks at least two to three times a week, targeting different skin concerns for each application – from brightening pigmentation to deep hydrating. For those of you who are new to this, the options can be quite overwhelming..so today you’re in luck! I’ve put together my favorite sheet masks I’m currently loving! Keep scrolling to see which one is best for your skin type :)
The Korean Multi-Masking Beauty Trend has become very popular during the past year. At first I was a bit hesitant to put different masks on my face..but let me just say, the more masks the better! ;) If you really think about it, different areas of your skin have different concerns. For me, I have oily skin in my T-zone and drier areas on my forehead and cheeks. Usually when I multi-mask, I like to apply an Amazonian clay mask to my T-zone to draw out the impurities in my pores, and finish off with a hydrating sheet mask to replenish the area with moisture. The only drawback to this method is that it can get a bit messy with cream/gel-based masks, but recently Skin Inc changed the game with their collection of multi-masking ‘Facial In-A-Flash’ sheet masks! No scissors needed :) These masks have been designed to mix and match, so you can target different skin concerns all at the same damn time!! Biggest bonus- you won’t find these masks sliding off your face because they are made of hydrogel. My favorite combination is applying the Soothe-n-Purify mask on the lower part of my face to purify my pores, and apply the Lines-Be-Gone mask on my forehead and cheeks to give it some radiance and glow!
Soothe-n-Purify (Gold Mask) – This mask contains charcoal to detox and calm your skin.
Lines Be-Gone (Rose Gold Mask) – This mask is made with Vitamin A and a splash of REAL gold to help lift your skin.
Get Glowin (Platinum Mask) – This mask contains Vitamin’s B3 serum and floral extracts to help brighten and boost your skin’s radiance.
These gel sheet masks by Babor take hydrating face masks to a whole new level! Each sheet is drenched in hyaluronic acid and hexapeptide-8, two key ingredients to combat dry skin and lock in moisture. Throughout my pregnancy, my skin has become much less oily and more combination. But lately, I’ve been experiencing dull and drier skin on my forehead and cheeks, so I’ve been in the market for some extra-hydration! I love using these masks if I need a quick pick-me-up or if I’m prepping for an event. After using it, my skin feels so much more plumped and I find that my make-up goes on so much more smoothly!
Whether you guys want to look red carpet ready, or just treat yourself to an in-home facial, then you’ll love this mask! This powerful sheet mask is infused with key ingredients such as lactic acid to penetrate deep into your skin to reduce dark spots, skin imperfections, and hyperpigmentation and reveal a brighter, more plump complexion. After just one use, you’ll instantly notice a brighter, smoother complexion. To ensure your skin stays hydrated after exfoliation, this mask also contains a high amount of hyaluronic acid that will lock moisture into your skin to reveal rejuvenated, healthy skin. What I love most about this sheet mask is that it doubles as an exfoliator, but unlike traditional exfoliators that can sometimes be harsh on your skin, this sheet mask is extremely gentle while still providing the same results. My skin always feels so refreshed, luminous and plump after this mask! And bonus- each mask contains a very generous amount of extra serum in the bottom of the pouch, so I always use this all over my face, décolletage and body afterwards!
Tips when using sheet masks:
- Unlike traditional masks, you can use the substance aka serum leftover from the masks or found in the bottom of the package on your face, neck and body!
- After removing your mask, make sure to massage the remaining solution into your skin for an extra few minutes to really lock in the nutrients. Don’t wash your face before bed! Let your skin soak in all the nutrients just like a nighttime cream
- Always start with clean, fresh skin so all the nutrients can be absorbed properly. I always wash my face with a gentle cleanser, then use a toner all over my face for a clean canvas.
- Always apply your sheet mask from the forehead, then line it up with your eyes and towards the chin. Then make sure to lightly massage the sheet mask upwards because this will boost blood flow.
- Do not reuse the same sheet masks because there is bacteria and dirt from the previous use that can irritate your skin
