When you decide to splurge on a designer bag, not only do you want to make sure that it’s a good investment, but you want to know that it will last you forever. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a bag girl. I love collecting bags and knowing that they eventually become a heirloom that can be passed down to Ale! But these days designer bag prices are getting higher and higher, with most bags being priced well into the $2,000 and $3,000 price range. So finding a nice designer bag with a three figure price tag can be challenging. Over the past few years, I’ve scored some pretty amazing gems under $1,000 that are classic, chic, investment-worthy pieces that I’ll be wearing for years to come! So if you’re ready to make an investment, I’m excited to share my absolute favorite designer bags under $1,000.
Prada Re-Edition Bag
Ever since Prada brought back the Re-Edition 2000 handbag, it’s been all the hype. Needless to say, it’s been on my wishlist for a while and on Valentine’s Day, I finally gave in and added it to my collection! I love how this bag can seamlessly take your look from day to night. It’s also made from nylon so it’s super durable and nicely structured. It’s baguette-like shape and nylon material was all the hype back in the 90s, then again in the early 2000s, and still is today. So if you ask me, the $725 price point is definitely worth it for a bag model that has lasted from the early 90s till this day!

GG Supreme Dionysus Super Mini Bag
Over the past few years, Gucci has released tons of new handbag styles that tend to go in and out of style. There is however one style that has been around forever and is here to stay. The Gucci Dionysus. This is one of the best classic pieces from Gucci to invest in. I love a classic bag that works for all seasons, and truly goes with everything in my wardrobe! Another thing I love about this bag is the many ways you can wear it. I love wearing it as a fanny as much as I love carrying it as a cross-body. My only complaint with this bag is the size. It’s very small so you need to be mindful of what you want to take with you, but if you’re a fairly minimal person then this bag is perfect for you. I tend to be very minimal for a night out and never want to carry anything other than my credit cards and a couple lip products, so this bag does it for me! If you’re looking for a leather Gucci mini in the same price range, the GG Marmont is a great classic option as well.

Chloé Faye Mini Leather And Suede Bag
The Chloé Faye is a great classic that never fails to impress and amaze. I’ve always been a big fan of this 70’s-inspired faye bag with the circle clasp, chain detailing and suede/leather combination. One of my first ever designer splurges was the large Faye in beige and I wore that bag on repeat! Fast forward to a few years later and I’m so happy the line has been extended to the mini bags because I really wanted a smaller version of this bag. For a small capacity bag, this bag definitely holds a lot for it’s size! It has three compartments and can easily fit a cardholder, sunglasses, lipsticks, and car keys.

Saint Laurent Lou Matelassé Belt Bag
I fell in love with this Saint Laurent bag as soon as I saw it! It’s classic, chic, and surprisingly has a lot of space for a mini bag. It can easily fit my mini wallet, card holder, lipsticks, and keys. This bag has been on the market for years and has been releasing in so many new colors and leather styles. It retails for right under $1,000, but it’s still on the cheaper end of most classic Saint Laurent’s handbag options, that cost between $2,000 to $3,000. Now for the sad part; I unfortunately LOST this bag during my trip to Cuba!! But I missed it so much that I recently invested in another one during the holidays!
