There always comes a time when a home decor revamp is necessary… just like spring cleaning. The good news is small things can make a BIG difference. It’s so crazy to think that G and I moved into our home less than a year ago and have managed to take on so many home projects in so little time! We still have so many fun projects in store for 2019, but for now we are taking a little break from any heavy renovations. That being said, every few months I find myself getting an itch to do a little redecorating…it keeps me inspired and motivated especially since I work from home! I always draw inspiration from our travels, hotel lobby’s, pinterest, and even things I see in a restaurant or boutique. There are so many fun, simple, and budget-friendly ways to refresh your home without going into full remodel mode. Today I’ve put together my top 5 recommendations for interior design updates that will make a huge difference!!
1. Hang Art/Create a Gallery Wall
There’s always that one blank wall in your home where you just can’t figure out a piece of artwork or big enough painting to fill the space. Creating a gallery wall is the perfect way to bring some personality and statement into your home. There are numerous ways to create a gallery wall, whether you want to frame photographs, drawings, or even personal memorabilia like G and I just did in our master bedroom! We’re so obsessed with our wedding gallery wall!! It transformed our bedroom into a space that feels so much more personal and cozy. We also recently did a much smaller and more simple gallery wall in our living room with black and white prints from Minted. Some of my favorite online shops for prints are Minted, Desenio and Framebridge for printing and framing!

2. Restyle Your Tables
A great way to revamp any room is by adding a nice tray to your coffee table, kitchen island, or accent tables. If you’re one to keep a lot of small items on your tables, it can make your space looks cluttered and unorganized. A decorative tray is the perfect accent piece to organize all those little things and create a focal point that is worth looking at! I like to keep my trays nice and polished at all times with small decor items like candles, books, oil diffusers, succulents, coasters, and other accessories that make a nice display. One of my favorite parts of my living room is this beautiful mirrored round tray from Z Gallerie. I love how modern and sleek it looks on my coffee table, plus it’s big enough for a big arrangement of decor pieces!

3. Freshen Up Your Space With Some Texture
Adding new cushions or blankets to your furniture is an easy update that can help freshen up any room. Not only does it add a sense of cosiness to your space, but it’s a great way to add a little personality into your room as well as create a focal point. For me, I love adding luxe faux fur accents like this blanket throw from Z Gallerie and plush Mongolian pillows. They immediately added so much more warmth and dimension to my living room!

4. Add Some Nature Elements Into Your Space
One of the easiest and cheapest natural decor pieces that many forget about is plants and dried plants!! Adding nature elements into your space can instantly liven up any room. Bringing nature into your space is a game changer for many especially if you want to feel more inspired in your home. Since our family room is very neutral and minimal, I really wanted to liven up the space with some pops of color and natural motifs that add texture and dimension to the room. This room also has a lot of natural light coming through the doors and windows which reflect beautifully against the greenery. G and I bought both our plants and pots at Home Depot and planted them ourselves. In my dining room, I decided to go with a more dried plant motif to really warm up the space, so I added huge tall pampas grass mixed in with dried bunny tails in little vases distributed throughout the dining table. Our living room is connected to our dining room in an open floor plan, so I wanted to maintain elements of the same decor into the living room. We have a white grand piano set-up in the corner that I also styled with some smaller pampas grass so it coordinates nicely with our dining area!

5. Expand Your Space With a Mirror or Two
Mirror’s are the key to many design dilemma’s. Let’s be real, not every home is blessed with the perfect amount of windows and natural lighting. And if you’re anything like me, natural lighting is crucial to every room in your home. Luckily our home has tons of windows and natural light, but there are a few areas where I could use some mirrors. Mirrors instantly bring in and reflect light, expand walls, and add dimension to any space. One of the spots I knew I needed a big mirror was our foyer. We purchased a large circular mirror to put above our console table to enlarge the area and reflect more light since this space lacked windows.
